Can I apply as a team?

YES. Applicants are encouraged to apply as a team as the process of planning and writing a charter school application is long and requires various skill sets. When applying, all team members must be on the Incubator application and a part of the application process; team members can not be implied or added at a later date.

Do I have to be an educator to apply?

NO. All individuals with proven leadership experiences and a desire to provide education options to the students of Louisiana are encouraged to apply. However, the multi-faceted nature of planning and operating a successful charter school requires a team with a strong educational, business, and community ties.

Is my charter school application guaranteed to be accepted by the local or state school board?

NO. . The goal of the Incubator is to best develop and support its participants so they have the best chance of writing a charter school application that is accepted by the local or state school board.

Do I have to open my school in Baton Rouge?

NO. . Incubator participants reside in various areas of Louisiana and aim to open schools in their communities.
