LRCE’s SPED Pro program program teaches the initial knowledge and skills for being a champion SPED teacher letting you add Mild to Moderate Special Education to your current teaching license in as little as one semester.

Course Design
LED BY A CHAMPION TEAM
Our program is a unique blend of asynchronous learning as well as live classes with a team of instructors
Students engage in live lessons through
- whole group discussion
- small group breakout discussions
- various technologies which allow participants to have their thoughts and ideas heard
Instructors are available for office hours to provide individual support
All of our activities are practical, real-world applications for special education teachers. SPED Pro participants are supported with individualized support until their work product is exemplar and can serve as a resource for the teacher in their classroom.
Eligibility
- Must hold at least a Level 1 certificate in Louisiana Timeline
- Sessions completed within a semester
Cohort Start Dates
- Fall 2024 Cohort Starts September 5th
- Spring 2025 Cohort Starts January 16th
- Summer 2025 Cohort Starts June 2nd
Course Schedules
- Weekly live zoom classes every Thursday from 6-8pm and three Saturdays a semester
- Additional Tuesday classes available for teachers needing to meet additional Literacy coursework requirements for earning Mild/Moderate Add-On
Sped Pro Program Cost
$3,800
We are always happy to discuss flexible payment arrangements or refer you to many of our district partners who offer full or partial reimbursement of your program fees
