PHASE ONE

Phase One Coursework

Foundational coursework taught by Instructional Coaches through live Zoom sessions.

TIMELINE

SUMMER COHORT

  • June – July timeline with sessions beginning June 2, 2025
  • 7-week program for Phase One Coursework
  • Monday-Thursday
  • Daily, Daytime Commitment, 9-11am and 1-3pm
  • Complete whole program within one year

FALL COHORT

  • September – April timeline with sessions beginning September 17, 2024
  • Initial 5-month program for Phase One Coursework
  • Weekly, Tuesday and Thursday Evening Courses, 6-8pm
  • Complete whole program in two years

SPRING COHORT

  • January – June timeline with sessions beginning January 14th
  • Weekly, Tuesday and Thursday evening courses, 6-8pm
  • Complete whole program in 18 months

Dual Certification in General and Special Education

  • Additional semester of Special Education coursework
PHASE TWO COACHING

Coaching and observation support from an Instructional Coach as you teach in your own classroom while holding a Practitioner License.

Practitioner Teacher Year

PRACTITIONER YEAR

ELIGIBILITY

  • Pass required Praxis Content exams for your certification area
  • Hired as a lead teacher of record within your certification area
  • Completed and Proficient with Phase One Coursework
  • Participants teach full-time for a state-required minimum of 180 days
  • Practitioner’s License valid in any public, private, and charter schools

THE EXPERIENCE

  • Individualized coaching and observations for the enactment of Phase One skills
  • Four rounds of coaching, observations, and feedback based on teaching and student data
  • Collaboration with school-based leader and mentors
  • Support with implementing High Quality Instructional Materials

TIMELINE

  • Entry points at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters based on Practitioner License eligibility
  • Practitioners who have completed Phase One Coursework who are not yet eligible for their Practitioner License will engage in live Praxis Support classes.

EARNING INITIAL CERTIFICATION (LEVEL 1)

  • Reach proficiency with classroom observations
  • Pass Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam
  • Teach for 180 days on a Practitioner License with school-based mentoring
  • Recommendation from LRCE & School-Based Leadership

  • $4,750 for General Education Certification
  • $5,250 for Dual Certification in General and Special Education
  • Praxis Exam fees vary by license area and are not included in the program fees

We require a small deposit to start and then work with you to arrange flexible payment options. Many of our district and school partners offer full or partial reimbursement of your program fees.

Praxis Preparation

Praxis As part of your certification journey, all practitioners must pass the applicable Praxis Content exams for their certification area prior to holding their Practitioner License. Practitioners may engage in Phase One Coursework without passing their Praxis Content exams, but they must pass in order to engage in Phase Two Coaching.

Praxis Support

LRCE provides all practitioners with free access to 240 Tutoring to prepare for their test(s).

Practitioners who finish Phase One Coursework that have not yet passed their Praxis Content Exams will engage in live Praxis Support Classes at no additional cost.
